Coppell defeated Arlington Martin 63 to 60 Friday night in a hard-fought playoff battle, continuing one of the most impressive turnarounds in Region I.

In a game that never allowed either team to fully separate, Coppell executed down the stretch. Late defensive stops, disciplined possessions, and clutch free throws sealed the three-point victory by Colin Griffith. The Cowboys improved to 25–11 overall under head coach Ryan Murphy.

Robert Watson led with 16 points.
Sibu Socks had 14.
Isaiah Fleming added 13.
Colin Griffith had 9 and went 4 for 4 from the line.
Fleming also went 6 for 6 from the line.

Just one year ago, Coppell finished 13–19. Now the Cowboys stand as area champions and one win away from the regional final.

The victory reflects the growth of a team that has steadily built momentum throughout district play, finishing 11–3 in 6A Region I District 5 and earning a strong postseason position. Friday night’s performance showed poise under pressure, maturity in late-game situations, and the composure of a team that believes it belongs.

Coppell now advances to the regional semifinals, where the Cowboys will face North Crowley on Monday or Tuesday, March 2 or 3. Game details are expected to be announced soon.
